We recently got an email from the nephew of the man who built the T-Rex statue that sits in front of the main Cavern’s building. We wanted to share it with you:
“I am sending you these copies of a picture of my uncle constructing the dinosaur that is in front of the restaurant. We have visited the caverns several times and I have spoken to several people about this picture and the fact that my uncle designed and built the dinosaur and I wanted to get a copy to you for display. I hope you can make a decent picture from what I have attached, it is a picture of the actual picture, there is some damage to it on the top corner. My uncle’s name is Victor Leon, that’s him on the left. I will see if I can get him to give me any more information on the dinosaur as far as where and when it was actually built. Victor is 92 years old and served in the Navy during WWII so his memory is a little spotty. I hope you can use these and we look forward to visiting the caverns again later this year.
Thank You”
